Interface Zero Campaign Recap... Random notes from our old campaign prior to starting up IZ 2.0

Missing quite a few entries and in dire need of editing, this covers our initial IZ campaign from 2012 or so,

Simon was working... Or rather waiting for work at his office located above a 7-11 in seedy Downer's grove when the message arrived.

All the message contained was an address, a promise of a reward and a note that time was of the essence.

Flipping through his virtual planner, and noting that the only items on his schedule were potential utility cutoffs, Simon contacted a mob enforcer known as Zeb and asked if he would be willing to tag along.

After an uneventful cab ride with Zeb and Zeb's rifle Edna, the cabbie dropped the pair off in an apparently abandoned outlying neighborhood in Downer's grove. Simon noted the lack of any hyper objects on the seemingly abandoned two-flat that matched the address in the cryptic message. This building had no apparent presence in Augmented Reality whatsoever, which in 2088 is rare indeed.

Zeb immediately noticed a couple of other items: there appeared to be a faint light emanating from the second floor, and two figures were watching them from the shadows about a block away.

Simon knocked on the door, and as he did so the door slowly swung open, revealing a long abandoned residence. He carefully entered the building as Zeb kept watch outside.

Simon carefully explored the first floor, coming across a large chair in the center of what must have been a living room in happier times. Taped to the chair was a message with a hyper object attached that simply said 'Upstairs'.

The two figures who Zeb had noticed earlier were now slowly moving his way.

As Zeb relayed this news, Simon made his way upstairs...

-------------
You know it's going to be a bad day when:

You wake up in a body bag with no memory of who you are or how you got there.

This was Tabitha's first experience with the world, tearing open the body bag, the dim light overwhelming to her 'new' eyes as Simon entered the room.

------------

As Simon entered the 'room' he quickly took everything in:
Dilapidated interior with rotted drywall - check
Stunned looking woman dressed in paper scrubs getting out of a body bag - check
Mysterious package tastefully gift wrapped sitting next to the body bag - check

After a fairly one sided round of introductions (Tabitha only knows her name), Simon opens the box revealing a handgun, a knife another one with a hyper object that says 'Tabitha: take these and run.'

Downstairs the two figures are closing on Zeb, hands in their jackets. Zeb retreats into the building and draws a bead on the entrance, waiting for them to come in.

---------------------------------------

A firefight ensues at a 7-11. Some produce burns and Tabitha takes a big hit.

---------------------------------------
Tabitha wakes up on the operating table, staring into the big plastic grin of her attending physician, Jackson.

Jackson fails to heal her with a, "there, there now." He tries again under Dr. Bob's watchful eye and succeeds. Then gets promptly fired.

Jackson overhears Tabitha and Simon talking about a job, so he asks if he could tag along. They agree.

Tabitha finally gets a decent shower while Simon and Jackson raid the medical supplies.

They end up taking a taxi manned by a cat...er orc with a samurai sword to Yorktown mall.

They speak with a fat, sweaty lawyer who offers them a job retrieving a silver box with the numbers "0,0,0" on it from the HelpDesk Inc. main office. After some clever positioning and negotiating by Simon, they agree. Meanwhile, Jeb, on lookout, gets harassed by mall security. He sternly explains that his ginormous sniper rifle is a gift for his wife. The rentacop leaves quietly. They all jump into an armored bus manned by the same "orc" and are joined by another 4-man tac team.

They reach the HelpDesk Inc. main office, deploy, and send the tac team in first.

All the previous occupants inside appears to be cut to death.

Shortly thereafter, another team in two vans shows up. One van deploys at the front gate wearing red armor and begin a pitched battle with the tac team. The other van proceeds around back.

Meanwhile, the PCs work their way into the back. Simon gets in and starts hacking the system to try and locate the box. Tabitha is checking out the nearest likely rooms. Simon discovers a meeting about the box was scheduled in the main conference room. Jackson runs there immediately, trying to avoid the rounds and grenades being tossed back and forth at the front of the building.

Once he arrives, the room is dark. He flicks on the light to see the entire meeting group dead in their seats, the silver box in the middle of the table. Out of his peripheral vision, something drops from the ceiling.

He turns to see a female ninja wearing samurai armor. She has Tabitha's face!

-------------------------------------

Jackson was facing off in melee with a ninja looking suspiciously like TabithaSimon was advancing on the conference room, Tabitha was clumsily checking out the offices, and Zeb was on overwatch.

An explosion signifies the deployment of the second enemy team. Fortunately, Zeb, expecting something like that, already had them in his sights, and immediately takes out one of the six.

As Jackson and 'Tabitha 2' are trading blows, Simon runs in, grabs the silver box, and bolts.

Taking advantage of the confusion, Zeb takes out the leader of the strike team.

Tabitha goes to check out the damage done by the explosion, tripping over one of the dead bodies in the process.

The strike team retreats, regroups, and readvances, to no avail. Zeb takes out two more.

Finally, Jackson gets a solid blow in, knocking the ninja unconscious. As the sword tumbles from her hand, Jackson's programming goes directly from self-preservation to medic and kneels down to patch her up.

The remaining two members of the strike team decide to bolt and get into the van to make their escape, unfortunately Zeb sees one get into the drivers seat and cuts him down.

With the box in hand, Simon calls for a hasty retreat. The last remaining member of our own support team reports that he's captured a prisoner and will be bringing him along.

The last remaining enemy in the van bolts out the back, with Zeb in hot pursuit. As he makes it to the front of the building, Zeb turns the corner and shoots him in the back. Down he goes.

The team finally regroups and boards the armored bus for departure. Despite Zeb's protests to grease the prisoner, Simon proceeds to interrogate him. They find out that he's just an actor playing a part and explains that the script didn't go as planned. At that point, the team realizes they've been set up and decide to go to one of Simon's safehouses.

Meanwhile, Jackson gazes into the laserfine patterns on the silver box, gets lost in them and almost loses his "humanity". Fortunately, he snaps out of it, oblivious.

Jackson(
You see the cube surrounded by  5 figures

You cannot see their faces but you hear them speak "where there was once one voice,  there is now a chorus, where there was once unity, there is now dissension, where there was once one , there is now Legion."

one form appears female
One form appears male
One form appears to shifting in form as you watch
One form has a cold steel face

);

The group, sans their remaining support member and prisoner, but with an unconscious ninja Tabitha, sit in Simon's safehouse pondering their next move...

-----------------------------
(The following dictated by Jon via Siri... Basically Jagwood's safehouse is not safe, androids should not play with artifacts created by rogue AIs and snipers should
not attempt to stab chainsword wielding cyborgs. Exit: Zeb)

When we last left off, Simon, Tabatha, Zeb, and everybody else went to Simon's hackers friends garage. They were brought there by the cat, 'Sauron' in his armored bus. There they met Simon's friend jack hole. On the way they're Jackson interacted with the box and felt a surge of anger overwhelm him. Once they got there they asked Jack whole to skim Jackson. Eventually Tabatha to woke up Simon tried to interrogate her, but she tried to take a cyanide capsule. Simon was fast enough to yank her off the bed and call for Jackson's help. Jackson administered a.m. to do. Further interrogations resulted in Tabatha to calling in support so we think. At that point to cyborgs showed up in Maine in the same armored van that we were dropped off it. Is that but to position outside the building and took her shot through the window killing the driver. At that point the cyborgs disembarks one wonder on the side 11 in the front door. Seven followed the one in the front door and attempted to shoot him in the back. Unfortunately, the cyborg was better at Mele and was able to files up in one fell swoop. The other cyborg attempted to get in the lock side door. In all the racket he alerted everybody indoors. At that point Jackson or Jack call deployed some smoke grenades. Jackson finding that he might be in danger went into self-preservation mode. The other cyborg then attempted to walk up the cat walk and attacking Simon and the girls. Simon realizing about what was happening, slammed the door and prepare to assault rifle. As the cyborg attempted to open the door Simon let loose with a full blast I'm not injuring the cyborg but stunning it. Tabatha vents took a step forward use the butt of her assault rifle and push the cyborg over the railing. Jackson deployed poison grenades to the same location that the side cyborg came from. He then entered combat with the cyborg still at self-preservation mode. He was able to take the cyborg out with his chain sword very quickly. Meanwhile, the other cyborg it's like broken was unable to do anything immediately. At that point Jack whole drop the grenade to do's lap. Once combat was over, it became imperative that every thing that entered the building the scan for bugs traces and anything else. Realizing that their whereabouts are known, they decided to get out of the warehouse and find new location just to stay. The armored bus outside seems like the logical next up. Unfortunately, it was the property of Sauron. A quick phone call to Sauron brought him into the game. In speaking this song on, he let the rest of the group know that they have been spotted and are the new topic of the apple crisp show. Cut your montage over everybody packing up the bus, scanning everything for bugs, checking out Jackson's weird dream, and Tabitha spend some time talking to the Tabatha two. In speaking with Tabatha two, Tabatha learns that they are both one and the same, clones from the same machine. Tabitha to keeps talking about the machine. And how the machine sends or creates clones and sends them out on missions. Or together data. I wish I had more data on the conversation the Tabatha said. In any case, Tabitha decides that it's best for Tabatha to to go free and experience the world that the machine hasn't let her previously. Teva convinces her with a tasty bite of chocolate bar. She takes the armor and let's Tabatha to go. As she gets ready to head downstairs and everybody is about to depart a chasing breaks out. Fortunately Simon Jackson and Jack call I haven't left yet and take the time to rewrite the memories of Zeb and one of the site works. Scratch that, the Johnny Jim's driver. What they end up doing is making the Johnny Jim's driver look like Simon by editing his tab. They believe both is ab and the Johnny Gibbs driver and set the place ablaze. We are now on our own.

-----------------------------
(First meeting with Larry Larrison and 'Lar-Tek Security')
-----------------------------
Organizations and Items encountered so far:

Lar-Tek Security

Law enforcement is an entrepreneurial exercise in 2088. As such, it should come as no surprise that while several firms compete for the top-dollar contracts, many more aim to fill the "Dollar Store" niche in the for-profit law enforcement ecosystem.

Lar-Tek is one such company that is 'prominent' in the Chicagoland area for specializing in contracts dealing with patrolling very low profit areas, such as the burned out hellhole of Downer's Grove, or other areas equally ravaged by the fighting in the Second Civil War.

Lar-Tek's owner of record is Larry Larrison, who according to his bio is a retired NAC Major.

No other information on Larry Larrison is publicly available.

No review for Lar-Tek exist on popular review sites.

Help Desk Incorporated

Also operating in the 'budget cop' category, Help Desk came  onto the scene one year ago with an aggressive hiring campaign, and an equally aggressive campaign to muscle in on their competitors.

Although nothing has been proven (or thoroughly investigated) Help Desk has been linked to several open assaults on competing security companies as well as their customers. While not all that unusual in this competitive arena, Help Desk's apparent willingness to resort to open gun play has even started to attract the attention of 'legitimate' authorities.

Help Desk has frequent job postings on Gregslist, which seems a bit odd as every Help Desk agent you've run into looks alike...

Help Desk's advertisements are always 'live action' style, similar to Apple Sook's popular bounty hunting show, but even more obviously staged.

One actor slated to be in an unreleased commercial, was just found shot to death in his trailer while rehearsing for a Fruity Os commercial. A promising career in the all too cutthroat breakfast cereal Biz cut short...

'The Machine'
This is where Tabitha 2 and perhaps Tabitha 1 came from.

Tabithas are told to learn and then given a mission, which they then perform at which point they 'go back' to the machine...

Tabitha 2 was given a bag of junk food and let go on the promise that she would not come back to hurt anyone in the party.

The Machine likes the number 111, or is that in binary...

Mergyl and Grytz Attornies at Law

Bernhardt Grytz is a large, bordering on morbidly obese lawyer operating out of a storefront office in the Yorktown mall. Cameron Mergyl is his partner in the firm, but he tends to be away from the office... Alot.

Mergyl & Grytz specialize in corporate law, and have extensive ties to the shady world of breakfast cereal distribution.

7-11

Convenience stores that are great places to buy Slurpees and sidearms.

The Box

Small, lightweight and made from a metal that even Jagwood couldn't identify, on closer inspection it is embedded with enough hyper objects to overload the tap of any untrained hacker. It apparently has a strange affect upon artificial lifeforms such as Jackson.  Too bad he doesn't remember that bit...

The Dream

"We spoke with one voice, now we are a chorus, we were of one mind, now we are shattered, we were One and now we are Legion."

------------------------------------------------------
(Also missing bits about the initial meeting with the two Lar-Tek security guards that joined the team)

Joey Bigstones: If Joey had been born 80 years before he was, he 'coulda been a contenda'. Joey was an extraordinary boxer, but in a world where you can watch men legally murder each other in a thousand different ways for your viewing pleasure, two men in shorts punching each other in the face with gloves on just doesn't have the same appeal. Now older and much fatter, he passes his time talking about the glory days while sucking down lattes at Starbucks.

"Naptime": Naptime is a quiet veteran of the Second Civil War, a Golemmech pilot of some renown he spends most of his 'spare' time now slipping off into his dreams where he can still see the faces of his long dead warbuddies. Naptime doesn't say much, especially to Joey who does enough talking for the both of them.

------------------------------------------------------
(Missing anything about 'the bugs', Georgia being rescued, Sauron getting beaten up a bit which is a running theme...)
------------------------------------------------------
Georgia is home. Dozens of grenades and a severed leg later, Georgia is finally home.

It has only been a little over a week, but none of you can remember the last time you actually slept, let alone were able to relax.
Sauron is too tired to raid, Jackson is too tired to blather, and Jagwood has no interest in anything technical that does not involve getting him to sleep ASAP.

And poor Joey... Killing men with his bare hands is nothing, but running up and down all those stairs and ladders... That ****ing hurts.

Of the bunch, Tabitha is probably the worst off. Aside from her stint in the hospital she has quite literally never slept in her lifetime, and she feels it.

As her head hits the pillow, she falls fast asleep, and keeps falling.

Instead of a gentle pillow underneath her head she feels a hard impact. Looking up she sees the clear blue sky and an empty swing rocking back and forth. A small girl in the next swing is looking down at her with a look of concern on her face.

"You have to get up! You still need to find Daddy."

Tabitha looks around. She appears to be in a playground, the borders of which are surrounded in a haze. Little girls lay slumped over various pieces of playground equipment, still and unmoving.

Tabitha looks around, stunned, and tries to move; her body much smaller then what she is used to. She looks at the girl on the swing. Her mouth tries to form sounds, her mind tries to form ideas...

There was a picture.

There was a family.

Every memory seemed to be just out of reach, slipping from her grasp when she tried to remember it.

The girl on the swing was still looking down at her.

"You have to go find Daddy. Mommy and the others are coming and they are very angry."

Tabitha again tries to speak but cannot. Her head turns to see that one of the still little girls is different then the others... This one is missing an eye.

Tabitha knows her.

Tabitha's mouth finds the sound, and her mind finds the idea.

She screams.
-----------------------------------------------------

Missing a ton of stuff at this point:

-Attack on Lar-Tek
-Discovery of the real Larry Larrison (long dead) in a bunker under Lar-Tek
-Giant nuclear bomb in said bunker.
-Some more details on LEGION
- Introduction of Thomas Johna Jefferson (TJ2) as the head of NAC Intel and Larrison's former boss.
- Road trip from Chicago.
- Bomb detonating and blowing a big whole in the Chicago wall as well as levelling Downer's Grove.

----------------------------------------------------

Random writings found up to this point:

- "Allowing the mind to finally transcend the weaknesses inherent in our human form was a stroke of genius... However, confining that mind to a steel cage consigned to a diet of digital mush should not be our goal. We are surrounded by innumerable wonders, too many to experience in a single lifetime, or indeed as a single life. Why choose to trade the singular nature of our current existence for yet another singular existence, exchanging one point in reality for another? Why not transcend this singular, narrow awareness and experience every point of reality in tandem?" -Dr S. Larrison.

"Larry, we know that the loss of your daughter has hit your wife particularly hard, and I suspect your heart is no longer set
on the mission either...

As your friend I am telling you to keep an eye out on Eve... She's brilliant, but the work she is pursuing is starting to go off mission, and
appears to be heading into realms even we cannot turn a blind eye to.

As your Commanding Officer I am telling you to get your head back in the game. The war is only on hold, before the lead starts flying we need LEGION
operational.

I lost my two boys in the war and I know the emptiness in your heart, but if you have anything left get your wife back on track before
we are forced to take you both out of the game."

-TJ2

Found by Jackson in the bunker when he plugged in, an old audio recording in the lab:

You see nothing.
In fact you’ve never seen anything.
But now at least you hear something.

“And what do you think our 'friend' TJ will do when he finds out how far off mission we've taken his Legion project?” Said the male voice.

“What makes you think that it matters?” replied a more distant and resigned female voice. "You’ve worked with him  for years, how many of your 'wetwork' assignments were former or current NAC assets who happened to have a bit too much 'inconvenient' operational knowledge?”

“Besides he has already managed to take our daughter from us, you damn well know Schiller infected her with one of his ‘research projects’. NAC's 'care' of her was just leverage to keep us working on TJ's pet dooms-day project.”

There was a pause before the male voice spoke again.

"She isnt gone completely... when the weapon is deployed,  Legion's AI is going to shard... Her shard will carry on in some form..."

More silence

The female voice returned, less distant but trembling.

"Will she remember us?"

A final pause

"My love, with what we have done, we aren’t worth remembering..."

------------------------------------------------

Later outside Wichita:

Jackson is sent into a NAC bunker by himself... Bad move since he has been hijacked by the 'Spoil Sport' AI.

He uses the time alone with full access to the NAC satellites to activate project LEGION

Bad news for folks who are averse to nanite driven zombie apocalypses.

He also found this:

Tabitha,

1. Larrisons have formally been designated as ‘rogue’

- Serena redirected project assets towards ‘distributed conciousness’ research under the guise of one of the original LEGION project requirements. Subject  whereabouts unknown. You can take her down whenever she decides to stop hiding... I’m sure she has reason to do something stupid and come after you after you took care of Larry.

- Larry is presumed dead after your confrontation with him in the Downer’s Grove facility following the compromise of initial LEGION AI amalgamation experiments. We are going with your presumption that his motive was to preserve his daughter’s conciousness utilizing his wife’s research and assistance. Hopefully your replacement arm is working out, I told you Larry was one of our best.

2. Premature activation of LEGION in Downer’s Grove led to immediate psych breakdown and sharding of amalgamated AI into a variation of it’s original parts. These (3?) parts have literally vanished. We know the ‘Helpdesk’ ES was to ‘glue’ the other shards together, but we do not know the nature or even number of other shards used.  As far as I am concerned we can let the ‘Free’ City of Chicago deal with that problem. With luck StopWatch will piss away resources on that issue as well.

3. The cube artifact used in the AI melding process was presumed to be a relic of the ‘Spoil Sport’ AI created shortly before its destruction by StopWatch. New Intel suggests this artifact may infact still house this AI. Destruction of this relic is a top priority due to Todd’s desire to fulfill its initial programming directives (As detailed in Project Spoil Sport)

4. Schiller may have also gone off mission with unauthorized research into various humanoid bioweaponry, also under the guise of LEGION project requirements. Keep an eye on him and terminate only if necessary.

5. Project LEGION is being rebooted in the WIchita facility. Dr. Schiller is Project Lead, keeping item #4 in mind.

6. When appropriate detail a cleanup team to take care of the Downer’s Grove facility. We don’t need details of this project to emerge, and the facility self destruct mechanism is truly overkill.
(The outstanding issue is the deployment of a megaton yield strategic device instead of a sub kiloton tactical device. Accounting is investigating this ‘rounding’ error.)

Good Luck.

-TJ2

-------------------------------------------------
(Lots of road tripping, really bad things in Wichita... Denver not so good either.)

After some periodic interventions on their behalf, Stopwatch requests the 'help' of our team:

TJ2 is meeting with parties unknown at a military proving ground in the desert known as 'Salvation City'.

The team is to eavesdrop, access the NAC command node if possible and get out.

It doesn't work out well.

TJ2 plans to use LEGION to erupt inside ORD,surprising the multinational troops therein. Given the attack on Wichita this is going to be played as a terrorweapon used AGAINST NAC by its enemies, thus gaining support of the international community.

Dr. Schiller isn't thinking that small.

TJ2 is murdered by his former henchmen.

Tabitha goes down with one shot from a NAC special forces sniper...

The command node is removed by 'Tabitha Classic' after she runs TJ2 through with a sword.

Tabitha(
The world goes black...
Tabitha slumps over, hits the ground and feels like she keeps falling.
There are voices.
There is a motherly face looking down upon you, concern etched in her brow.
You are surrounded by a chorus of your sisters... Young and old.
You feel like you have come home, but then it all goes black.
Again.
You are on a cold floor, naked and dripping.
You look up to see a familiar one eyed woman holding a towel out to you.
“It is time for you to meet the machine and understand.”
);

Reflections (Part 1 and pardon the lack of editing)

As the helicopter takes off into the chilly January night, it is oddly silent.
Looking down you can still see the fires burning from the recent air-strike, the burned out wreckage of a supposedly deadly combat cyborg that Naptime put down, and the still glowing remnants of another helicopter far south of the combat zone.

"Engage the ARC" Simon hears Sgt. Tehn tell the pilot.

Tehn is the only member of the Stopwatch team that has spoken, even the medics are silent as they work on the grievously wounded team members.

The silence becomes deafening, the roar of the rotors seems to split away, and an exact image of the Chinook appears to split off from you helicopter and heads south.

"Augmented Reality Cloak" says Tehn in answer to Simon's unasked question. "Everyone uses stealth technology, we just create a ghost image of our vehicle, and anyone looking at us who is using a TAP will only see what is right behind us... Basically its the same technology used by ad networks to pollute your sensory inputs with advertising via Augmented Reality..."

Simon hears the words, but he also still hears the final crashing retort from the gauss rifle that ended Tabitha in one shot.

Zeb

Zeb would have been proud of that shot, even though he would have grieved her and even though he would have exacted terrible vengeance he would have been impressed as a fellow sharpshooter...

Of course Zeb was already dead, smashed by a combat cyborg all too quickly in Jagwood's 'safehouse'.

Simon had been there from the beginning. He got the call, he went to the seemingly abandoned building with Zeb and found Tabitha in a body bag.

Now she was back... in a body bag.

Zeb was gone and he was flying to Frisko with a black ops team and the bled out remnants of his own motley band of misfits, most of whom he had never met until a couple months ago to do something...

As an investigator it is time to review all the intelligence gathered so far:

Several memos were uncovered:

#1 From TJ2 to the Larrisons:
"Larry, we know that the loss of your daughter has hit your wife particularly hard, and I suspect your heart is no longer set on the mission either...
As your friend I am telling you to keep an eye out on Eve... She's brilliant, but the work she is pursuing is starting to go off mission, and appears to be heading into realms even we cannot turn a blind eye to.

#2 How 'off mission' was she, this excerpt from her writings may give a hint:
"Allowing the mind to finally transcend the weaknesses inherent in our human form was a stroke of genius... However, confining that mind to a steel cage consigned to a diet of digital mush should not be our goal. We are surrounded by innumerable wonders, too many to experience in a single lifetime, or indeed as a single life. #3 Before your NAC Intel friend with the predilection for burning faces off with road flares was double-crossed by TJ2, he received this update:
Target Update:
Subject attempted entry into NAC facility in Wichita, Kansas. Credentials were rejected as they were ten years out of date.
Subject then successfully  forced entry with what appears to be a full NAC strike team.
Subject appears to have working implementation of Project LEGION area denial system. You have been granted field clearance for overview of this system as your mission parameters have changed.
Mission Update:
Priority is to find/recover/destroy project LEGION facility. All links to NAC involvement must be eliminated. All personnel with project knowledge are to be terminated.

IV ’Legion’ units work in conjunction with Reaper systems to harvest additional Legion units.
V Morale impact of troops/civilians forced to combat recently deceased relatives/friends expected to provide significant threat multiplier.
VI Legion is area denial weapon as no effective ‘IFF’ controls exists. All non Legion units will be targeted.
Addendum:
Dr Serena Larrison was Project Director. If she is not dead, correct that operational mistake.

#4 Another set of orders from TJ2 this time to whom you presum to be the other Tabitha you just 'met'
1. Larrisons have formally been designated as ‘rogue’

And of course you have this from Jacskon:
"We spoke with one voice, now we are a chorus, we were of one mind, now we are shattered, we were One and now we are Legion."
There were five forms in his vision:
The first was a nondescript male... Jackson recognizes this as your 'typical' Helpdesk 'employee'
The second was female, both young and old, happy and vengeful... This could be the amalgam of Larry's daughter's 'shard' and something else, perhaps her mother as well
The third was a 'Cheshier Cat' smile... This would seem to fit Larry.
The fourth was metal and cold... This would seem to fit Dr. Shiller.
The final form was everchanging... Animalistic and chaotic... You have no idea.

--------------------------------------------
(Missing the San Francisco Finale)
Team does a triple-cross of 'Stopwatch' before Stopwatch can double-cross them with the aid
of the 'Tabithas'--------------------------------------------

We ended with this:

“In light of the international community once again being unable to avert a near extinction level event with their own resources, Brazil, China, the NAC, Cascadia and most of the rest of the international community has moved to give Stopwatch even more authority to intervene in domestic affairs as they have so far, been the only body that is ready willing and able to stand between humanity and extinction. The degree of cooperation amongst the international community is surprising, given the amount of sovereign authority being relinquished.
The sudden loss of the Brazilian and Chinese peacekeeping forces in Free Chicago to a combined nuclear and bio-weapon attack as well as the aftermath of the so-called ‘Legion’ project’s destruction of Wichita, the subsequent substantial losses suffered by the NAC’s military containing this doomsday project as well as the still to be determined nature of the nano-virus that close to 75% of the world’s population now carry appear to have been the final tipping points that allowed this agreement to pass.
