Worlds Without Number: Of Weapons and Dwarves

 


As written, the Dwarf Origin Foci on page 211 could suffice, but with some alterations:

Level 1: Gain craft as a bonus skill, Constitution modifier +1 and Dex modifier -1. Dark vision up to 60 feet.  Dwarves are notoriously stubborn and get a +2 to Will saves to resist being compelled, however they are at -2 to resist the lure of treasure, particularly gold.

Arms & Armor:

  • The most common weapons are swords, axes, spears, short bows, long bows and knives.
  • Crossbows do not exist (unless it is the movie version).
  • Maces and flails are not mentioned.
  • Greatswords would generally come about due to the prevalence of heavy armor, which doesn't really exist. Two handed weapons are well balanced by the fact that you lose a shield, which is a big consideration in WWN.
  • Armor would seem to peak at mail and scale, plate would not exist (again, unless it is the movie version.)
  • Consider all Elven forged blades to glow blue in the presence of orcs.
