The Expanse: Bobbie Draper and some Martian Marine Corps gear




In the Expanse, it is made clear that the Martian Congressional Republic has a technological advantage over the UN, but is at a significant numerical disadvantage.

In Mythic D6, equipment can have a quality that ranges from poor to master work.

In the spirit of making things a bit less complicated, we take that same table on page 142 and replace 'poor' with OPA, 'normal' with 'U.N.' and 'great' with 'M.C.R.'.

Another clear difference is the physiology of the three initial 'powers', primarily related to native gravity. In mechanical terms, I am going with the idea that each of these 'races' suffer varying Encumbrance (ENC) penalties in different environments.

Earthers suffer no penalties in 'high gravity' environments such as Earth, but have an Enc penalty of -1D in 'mid-tier' environments such as Mars, and -2D in Zero-G.

'Dusters'(Martians) suffer a penalty of -1D in high gravity environments, and -1D in Zero-G.

Belters suffer a penalty of -3D in high gravity environments , -1D in mid-tier and no penalty in Zero-G. Belters also get a bonus of 1D on all checks related to recovering/surviving High-G maneuvers as they are apparently quite resistant to it for short periods of time.

The only way to offset this is with continual, vigorous training represented by specializations in High-G or Zero-G.

(ex. A Martian Marine would probably have Rank 1 specializations in High-G and Zero-G , the 'free' success would compensate for the 1D penalty. A Belter who wanted to operate on Earth would have to sink significant development (character points) into being able to do so.)

Signature Attack The Warrior has perfected a single attack maneuver that he is known and feared for.
The move can be performed a number of times per game equal to the Hero’s KNO attribute. When the attack is executed, the Hero may double their Skill Level Ranged Fighting skill.

Concept Penalty The Warrior adds 2D to the Aggravation Pool when they refuse to settle a dispute with action rather than reason and words.
